"RELIGION"

(R) In your Reply #32, you asked what the litmus test is to determine if someone is a Christian or not. Believe it or not, I know the answer to this. Read Mark 16:16-18. After reading this passage, it becomes obvious that there is no such thing as a true Christian, because I have yet to see someone meet the requirements in that passage.
(MB) This is a rather famous passage that most Christians would rather ignore than explain. The verses (RSV) read:
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.
    Needless to say, I doubt there are too many Christians -- regardless of their level of faith -- who would willingly attempt these tests. But, what an impressive demonstration it would be if somebody would survive the bite of a deadly venomous snake and/or the ingestion of a deadly poison without medical intervention.
