WHEREAS tenpin bowling has advanced from its humble beginnings in the nineteenth century to become one of the world's best-loved sports with millions of competitors all over the world on every populated continent;
WHEREAS world tenpin bowling championships have been conducted since 1951;
WHEREAS the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs has expressed a strong interest in conducting Olympic bowling competition;
WHEREAS tenpin bowling meets all IOC requirements for inclusion in the summer games;
THEREFORE we the undersigned competitors in the sport of tenpin bowling respectfully request that the International Olympic Committee include tenpin bowling as a medal sport in the programme of the Games of the XXVII Olympiad in Sydney.
